Erika S. Mushorn of Troy tragically gave up the ghost on the young age of 31 on December 27th, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital after suffering a deadly middle assault.
Erika used to be born on March 15, 1992 in Albany to folks Wade C. Mushorn and Wendy L. Mushorn. She was one of three daughters – her sisters being Teresa L. (Christopher) Phillips and April M. (George) Mushorn. Erika’s family also comprises her paternal grandmother Joan Mushorn and uncle Scott Mushorn. She also leaves behind her father and partner's mother, Harry and Tammy Matala, cousin Justin S. Mushorn, aunt Susan E. (Bob) Clarke, and several other nieces and nephews.
Erika worked arduous to supply for her family. She prior to now held positions at Walmart as a customized products and services supervisor for several years ahead of transferring directly to work at Hewett’s Garden Center in Halfmoon. Most not too long ago, Erika dedicated herself to being a full-time homemaker, mom, and spouse – selflessly caring for her 5 young children.
Her liked husband of 9 years Derek R. Matala survives her, at the side of their 5 kids – Derek Jr. (age 8), Nathan (age 7), Dominick (age 5), Nina (age 3), and Grace (age 1). She liked her kids deeply and the joy they brought into her life. She had aspirations of one day opening her own custom floral design industry.
Friends and circle of relatives are invited to the Catricala Funeral Home situated at 1597 Route 9 in Clifton Park on Friday, January fifth 2024 from 4-7 PM to collect, proportion recollections, and mourn the profound lack of Erika.
