Ron DeSantis is an American legal professional, naval officer, baby-kisser, and author. A Republican, he has been Governor of Florida, since January 8, 2019. He was prior to now a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida, from January 3, 2013 to September 10, 2018. He joined the U.S. Navy in 2004, where he was once a lieutenant, and later felony consultant to SEAL Team One; in this capability, he was once stationed at Joint Task Force Guantanamo in 2006, and deployed to Iraq in 2007.
