Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange has led tributes to disc jockey and track producer Arif Cooper following his dying on Sunday.
Cooper died abruptly whilst playing at a party early within the morning on the Police Officers Club in St Andrew.
In a commentary, Grange stated she is “deeply saddened” by way of Cooper’s passing.
“It is so sad that any other of our exceptional personalities within the song industry has left us abruptly and at such a reasonably young age,” the minister said.
We saw Arif following his famous father, Michael ‘Ibo’ Cooper, a founder of Third World Band, into track and making his own title here in Jamaica and at the global scene where he entertained audiences in a bunch of United States cities and in Japan.
“Arif’s versatility was one of the huge options of the man and was very much admired through his colleagues in the tune trade, especially the ones whose careers benefitted from his ability, and by means of his lovers. He will likely be sorely overlooked,” Grange mentioned.
